ABOUT THE ARTIST
Taclan Gorgun Sirinler graduated from F.M.V Nişantaşı Işık High School in 1991 and she attended Boğaziçi University, Tourism and Hotel Management and Bilkent University, Interior Architecture Department programs between 1991 and 1993. She also attended Bahcehesehir University, School of Government and Leadership in 2010. Her interest on visual arts led her to attend water color and charcoal drawing classes at Renaissance Atelier and Point Art Studio. She made a career as an Event & PR Manager at Princess Hotels Group where she was in charge of organizations, events, promotion and publicity of the business. In 2006, she opened “Look Art Studio” with her partner that operated as gallery and design studio. She her group exhibitions and exhibited design objects as well as her paintings.
In 2006, she designed a DNA shape plexy-steel shelving to visualize her thesis statement of “Future of design depends on the changes on DNA which may be disturbed with the effects of GMO food on human body” for the Istanbul Design Week.
Taclan Gorgun’s acrylic compositions are based on personal observations and subjects using elements of nature, fantastic, abstract, figurative expressions and stories. She creating dimensions with acrylic, oil, plaster and other materials to give a desire to touch. Her digital designs are more commercial and themes are based on architectural features that are applied on canvas, plexy or any other material.
