ABOUT THE ARTIST
“There are special moments brought about by life... Moments that enlighten our lives and take to eternity. There are individuals that remind us of our own feelings and guide us perceive the world around through different aspects it possesses we hadn’t been aware of till that very moment. Through a photographic Point of View, what exists in real life is to be interpreted and exposed in a way different context than they actually are and serve for, rather than seen as is.
Anton Chekhov briefly summarized this when he once said ‘As artists, we should show life not as it is or as it should be, but as we see it in our dreams’. Referring to this brief but meaningful saying, Varol throw himself into illustrative photography requiring loads of digital and analogue effort and patience. Here I am sharing the pride and excitement of having
gotten to know Varol Ozkaner as an artist who has come up with a whole piece of work of art that introduces this state of mind to the masses.” - Tim Burns
