Mahyat Shafapour Tehrany

I was born in July 1985 in Tehran, Iran. I have worked and lived in Melbourne, Australia for several years and I was a featured artist selected by Bluethumb art group. Many of my paintings have been sold in Australia. Currently I live in Şişli, Istanbul, Turkey. I have a Ph.D. in geomantic engineering, and I finished my doctoral studies in Malaysia. The only thing with which I lose the track of time is painting. I have been painting since I was a child and started my professional career 15 years ago. My main areas of expertise are oil and watercolor paintings. Experimenting with other mediums such as pastel, gouache and ink also offered me new challenges and surprises. My work involves landscape, portrait, wildlife and plants. Although I work as an engineer, my passion for painting is what inspires me and gives me peace of mind.
