ABOUT THE ARTIST
Arda Celebi was born in Mugla, in 1986. He continued his education in Mugla until high school. After years of practicing art, he won the painting Department of the Mugla University, Bodrum Fine Arts Faculty in 2005 and graduated in 2010. During those years, he participated in solo and group exhibitions. Combining newspapers with acrylic paint as a unique technique, Celebi continues to practice art at Mugla Artists Association.
As the painter Edgar Degas said, "Art is not what you see, but what you have provided others to see." This ideology has always been the purpose of my studies. Words are not enough for me to express my feelings and thoughts, therefore I paint. I want you to think about what you see and feel and find a piece of yourselves. In the spirit of my models, I saw the chaos, sadness, pain, joy and emotion that I wanted to express, and I transferred it to the canvas to find life. The first thing I tell my students is that they see the model as a form of emotion, not an object. The rest is the ability to spill it on canvas or paper.
