ABOUT THE ARTIST
Zeynep Firat was born in Ankara. In 2007, she graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University with a Bachelor Degree of Biology and simultaneously a Bachelor Degree of Chemistry Program. She also completed her Master's degree in Biology Instructorship at the same university in 2008 and her Master's degree in Chemistry in 2010.
Firat's interest in painting began at a young age and her connection to painting never broke during her educational life in different fields. In 1998, she won 3rd place in the painting competition on "Environment" organized by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Same year, she practiced oil painting at Muhteber Demirtaş workshop, an art educator and painter in Ankara and in 2003 she took "Pattern" lessons from cartoonist Oktay Bingöl. In 2016, she won the Master's Program with Thesis at Anadolu University Sculpture Department and continued his sculpture department courses within the scope of Scientific Preparation Program for one year.
Fırat, who met with the audience with her first solo painting exhibition called "Entropy", also participated in national group exhibitions. Her works were exhibited at the "21x21 Artefacts Exhibition" held at Anadolu University in 2016 and in the "1st World Museum", "Young Artists" group art exhibition and "30x30 Works Exhibition" held in Ankara Contemporary Arts Center in 2017. She participated ARTANKARA International Contemporary Art Fair in 2021.
Fırat completed her PhD program in The Department of Pharmaceuticals at Anadolu University and has been working as a Lecturer at the same university since 2011.
